Many of you know that on May 13th I boarded a plane and left for Cochabamba, Bolivia. On that trip my role was primarily as a photographer for the North Park mission team. We partnered with the Timmer family’s orphanage project in Cochabamba. The experience opened my mind to so many things that I had not experienced before and my heart has become extremely burdened for the people, and specifically the children of Bolivia. So much so that I have decided to return for the rest of the summer to continue working with the orphanage project. Currently, I plan to travel to Bolivia from Mexico City on June 11th.
The photo to the right is one I took on my first trip to Bolivia. I met Elmo on my first day in Bolivia in Chapare, a jungle region a few hours drive from Cochabamba. Elmo (blue shirt, thumb in mouth) lives with 10 brothers and sisters in his house in the background. It is children like him that have captured my heart this summer.
The Timmer family began the International Orphanage Union project in 2003. They currently have three orphanage sites in Bolivia. Two of these orphanages are completed, the third, located in Chapare, is about halfway through construction. Each Orphanage is intended to house 8-12 childern with a set of house parents. The orphanages provide a family style living enviroment for the children while playing an active role in the community.
The Lord has continually amazed me in the way he provides for those who wait on him. This summer has allready been one of incredible provision. I am begining to understand what it means to wait daily on the Lord and I must admit it is quite exciting. I do not yet know where all the funds for this trip will come from but I know that the Lord will provide for me as needed. My parents will be manageing an account for me while I am in Bolivia. I am relying on the Lord to provide funds as they are needed and will be living day to day this summer. If you feel lead to be a part of my mission finacially (plane tickets, travel insurance, living expenses) you may make a check out to me to be sent to my parents at:

Most importantly, I invite you to join with me both in prayer and praise as the Lord continues to work in Bolivia. I will be updating this photo blog throughout the summer. Please join me in watching what the Lord does in Bolivia this summer!
Con gozo y paz,
Eric
